John W. Rogers, 77, of Highlands, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his home.

Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Ed and Velma Johnson Rogers. John was the owner of John W. Rogers Plumbing Services. He served as former pastor of several churches in North Carolina and Georgia and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Wanda Keener Rogers; two sons, Wayne Rogers and wife Josie and Greg Rogers and wife Terri all of Franklin; two granddaughters, Taylor and Jordan Rogers; three grandsons, Tucker, Eli and Jake Rogers; three sisters, Charlotte Reed and Elizabeth Billingsley both of Clayton, GA and Lucille McClure of Highlands and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13th at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Mike Chastain will officiate. Burial will be held in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Gold Mine Community, Highlands, NC.

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Brian Lowe, Philip Lowe, Scott Billingsley, Ralph Reed, Lamon Brown and Kevin Rogers. Deacons of Pine Grove Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
