John William Nye, 62, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009.
Born in Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late Benjamin Nye and Sethena Jaycox Nye. John was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Moynan Nye. He was a U.S. Army veteran; member of the American Legion Post 108; Real Estate Broker with Prudential and a member of the Board of Realtors.
He is survived by his companion Linda Miller of Franklin; son, Eric Nye and wife Rachel of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Benjamin Nye, Jr. of Long Island, NY; two sisters, Charlotte Porcaro and JoAnne Nicolazzi both of Long Island, NY; niece, Cathy Porcaro of Long Island, NY and a nephew, Bill Nicolazzi of Long Island, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108 will conduct military rites.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital, Feed the Children or Kids Wish Network.
