Obituary
John J. McGowan, 79, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Saturday, February 4, 2006.
A native of Romulus, Michigan, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude Livernois McGowan. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael McGowan who died in 1977; two brothers, Archie McGowan, Russell McGowan and a sister, Onalnee Schenk. He was a US Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 108, Franklin, NC. John retired from Purolator Products, Inc. where he worked as a purchasing agent for 44 years. He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie McGowan; daughter, Terrie McGowan of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.
