Joe Albert Christy, II, 74, of Franklin, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014.

Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Joe Albert Christy Sr. and Justine Clevinger Christy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Julius Albert Christy. Joe was a US Army veteran. He was owner/operator of Franklin Town Cobbler for 12 years and was a member of Victory Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Christy; two children, Julia Ann Christy Pile and husband Jeff of Tampa, FL and Joe A. Christy III and wife, Deborah of Franklin; sister, Betty Annadeane Earnhardt of Tampa, FL and two grandsons, William Pile and Nicolas Scott Christy.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2nd at Victory Baptist Church. Rev. Rusty Wolfrey, Rev. Benny Bagwell and Mike Fitzgerald will officiate with military rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be deacons of the church, Chad Parker, Ken Williams, Bruce Rish, Steven Southard, Jeff Pile, Frank Copeland, John Long, Jerry Cool, James Rish, Justin Castle and grandson, Nicolas Christy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a hospice of your choice.
