Obituary
Jo Ann Wilhide Hurst, 82, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
Born in Macon Co, she was the daughter of the late Harry "Chub" Wilhide and Frances Nolen Wilhide. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bryan Hurst; one sister, Betty Jean Wilhide and one cousin Edwin Nolen. Jo Ann loved to style her wardrobe with jewelry and other accessories. She was an animal lover all her life. She loved Basenji dogs and all breeds of cats. She enjoyed going out for food and fellowship with her friends and family and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by cousins, Conaree Nolen of Greensboro, NC, Jim Nolen of Marshville, NC, Frank Nolen of New Hope, VA, Tommy Nolen of Loganville, GA; Carolyn Lee Spence of Greensboro, NC; her loving caregiver, Ruth Williams of Franklin and numerous other cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 31st in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Appalachian Animal Rescue, PO Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744 or CareNet, 130 Bidwell Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
