Jim Williamson, 77, of Franklin, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010.

Born in Macon Co., he was the son of the late Paul R. Williamson and Clara Sue McPhereson Williamson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Williamson and sister, Lila Williamson. Jim worked for Burlington Industries, The Franklin Press and was Town Administrator for the town of Franklin. He was a Town Alderman; member of the Jaycees and was an avid Braves and UNC Tarheels fan. He was an active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church being a deacon for over 50 years and served in other offices and committees of the church as well. He was known for his sense of humor and was well respected by everyone that knew him and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Corbin Williamson; two children, Joy Mason of Franklin and Gene Williamson and wife Kim of Candler, NC; two brothers, Bill Williamson of Franklin and Ned Williamson of Texas; sister, Ann Curtis of Berea, KY; four grandchildren, Ashley Mason, Amber Chastain and husband Darren, Whitney Williamson and Tyler Williamson; one great granddaughter, Adelynn Chastain and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Trull and Rev. Brandon Breedlove will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Darren Chastain, Ren Corbin, Grady Corbin, Jr., Mark Corbin, Randy Keeter, Donnie Seagle, Keith Corbin and Larry Corbin.
