Jean Starbranch Wyrick, 74, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Edith Casius Starbranch. She was preceded in death by sister, Marion S. Blade and brother, John E. Starbranch. Jean was involved with politics for most of her life. Including starting the Macon County Republican Women's Club and was a life member holding all of the officer positions, including President. She was also active with the Macon County Board of Elections.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Clair E. Wyrick; two sons, Michael J. Wyrick of Morganton, NC and Matthew J. Wyrick and wife Allison of Mt. Juliet, TN; three sisters, Helen S. Blade of Evanston, IL, Edna S. Carlson and husband L. William of Peoria, IL and Alice S. Robbins and husband Jerry K. of Morgantown, WV; brother, Charles N. Starbranch and wife Ellen of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Kinard will officiate. Private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Westcare Home Health and Hospice or Mountain Regional Cancer Center both of Sylva, NC.
