Jean Robins Likens, 89, of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012.

Born in Newport News, VA, on June 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Raymond T. and Annie Mae Andrews Robins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Delbert L. Likens who died November 9, 2010 and a son, Raymond Robins Likens. Jean graduated from Newport News High School and graduated from Riverside Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 as an RN in the US Nurse Cadet Corps. She spent six months of training at Veterans Hospital in Memphis, TN as a student preparing to go into the military service when WWII ended. Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Mountain Synagogue in Franklin.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Likens Christy of Franklin, NC; son, Lewis Arthur Likens of Suwanee, GA; sister, Anne Dunaway Zanetti; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 17th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Haywood will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
