Janice Lockwood, 79, of Franklin, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009.
Born in Marion, OH, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Daughty. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Lockwood; two brothers, Jack and Tom; sister, Jean and twin sister, Joanne. Janice worked for Florida Power and Light before moving to Franklin, where she worked in the Cafeteria of East Franklin Elementary School for many years. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Janice loved to quilt and cross-stitch. She was an avid crafter in her lifetime and was a volunteer at Maco Craft. She loved her many friends and neighbors who helped her so much as she grew weaker in her last months.
She is survived by nephew, Frank Finch and wife Jeanetta of Franklin; great-nephew, Neil Finch of Franklin; great-niece, Lisa Hampton and husband Mike of Franklin; lifetime friend, Ruthie Lyons of Marion, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Waggle; a number of great-great nieces and nephews, one great-great-great niece and two great-great-great nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Al Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hampton, Neil Finch, Kevin Swafford, Buck Ledbetter, Doyle Clark and Tony Oberley.
