Jane Carpenter Gullett, 55, of Clayton, GA, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 1, 2005.
A native of Kokomo, Indiana, she was the daughter of Senator Robert C. Carpenter and the late Ruth Cope Carpenter. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Poppe and Debbie Marshall. Jane worked at Rabun County Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Franklin, NC. She was a very caring and loving mother, wife, daughter and sister.
In addition to her father, Senator Robert C. Carpenter of Franklin; she is survived by three sons, Adam Gullett ,Scot Gullett and Michael Gullett, ex-husband, Mark Gullett; step mother, Helen Carpenter; sister, Tina Carpenter, four brothers, Robert D. and wife Donna Carpenter, Dale and wife Marge Carpenter, Tom and wife Jeanne Carpenter, Eddie and wife Barb Carpenter; brother-in-law Lenny Poppe and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 4, at St. Frances Catholic Church. Father Matthew Kauth will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
A Rosary Prayer Vigil will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 3, and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., at Macon Funeral Home.
