Obituary

James David Woody, 65, of Franklin, entered into rest Monday, January 10, 2005.

A native of Roxboro, NC, he was the son of the late Samuel Benjamin and Annie Maude Wilburn Woody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Woody. He retired in 1995 after 32 years from General Telephone Electronics (Verizon). He was a maintenance cable splicer and prolific in computers and fiber optics, programing computers and was a genius in anything pertaining to electronics. Since his retirement, he was able to avidly pursue his passion. During the late 70's and early 80's, Jim served as an alderman and volunteer fireman for his community while living in Sciota, Illinois. He was a devoted husband and father and a member of Burningtown Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Londa L. Woody; three children, Lisa Gayle Brandon of Raleigh, NC, James David Woody, II of Franklin, and Michelle Dawn LeFavor of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Faye Estes of Semora, NC; and three granddaughters, Jerica, Haley and Karli.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 14, at Burningtown Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Kinard and Rev. Randy Drinnon will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 13, at Macon Funeral Home.
