Obituary

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019, the Florida Gators lost one of their biggest fans. At the age of 75, James "Jim" K. Wilson passed away surrounded by his family and friends. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Sally, his children, Jimmy (Tammy) and Nicki (Breanna) and his step children, Cory (Nathalia) and Michele (EA). Jim will also be fondly remembered by his three sisters, his seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends whose lives he touched so deeply.

Born in Eustis, Florida, Jim grew up in Clewiston and moved to Central Florida where he retired from the Polk County Health Department after 30 plus years. In 1999, Jim and Sally moved to Franklin, North Carolina, where he realized his lifelong dream of playing with trains by going to work for the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. Jim also worked with the Franklin Family Practice and served countless hours with several community organizations and was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

A Funeral Service in memory of Jim will be held on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Church, 542 St. John's Church Rd., Franklin, NC, 28734, with a reception immediately following. For those who desire to do so, memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to St. John's Episcopal Church at the above address.

Macon Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
