James Edward Sullivan, 86, of Franklin, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

Born in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late William Joseph Sullivan and Agnes Mary Lamb Sullivan. Jim was a US Air Force veteran and served during WWII.

Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita Sullivan; a daughter, Mary Lynn Poole and husband Cliff of Greensboro, NC; a son, James Edward Sullivan Jr. of Davie, FL; six brothers and sisters, William J. Sullivan Jr. of Richmond, VA, Honor Sullivan of Springfield, MA, Esther Malone of Griswold, CT, John Sullivan of Mt. Carmel, CT, Margaret Bentley of Montpelier, VT and Robert Sullivan of Franklin; two grandchildren, William James Simcox Jr. and wife Jill of Graham, NC and Stephanie Renee Feaster and husband Brandon of Randleman, NC; two great-grandchildren, Noah James Simcox and Austin James Feaster and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
