James "Jim" Walter Simpson, 66, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012.
Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth Franklin Simpson and the late William Dean "Doug" Simpson. Jim loved planting trees and bushes and enjoyed being outside. He was a member of Cowee Baptist Church was a former Sunday School teacher.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jerrie Elaine Pruitt Simpson; son, Jason Simpson of Franklin; step-son, James Davis of Franklin; two brothers, David Simpson and Bob Simpson both of Franklin; sister, Mary Ray of Snellville, GA; grandson, Levi Davis and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17th, at Cowee Community Center/Fire and Rescue. Rev. Andy Cloer will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Four Seasons Hospice, PO Box 815, Franklin, NC 28744.
