James Clifton Sanders, 78, of Franklin, NC and LaBelle, FL, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 in LaBelle, FL.

Born June 3, 1928 in Macon County, he was the son of the late Fred Sanders and Leona Stamey Sanders. James was a winter resident of LaBelle, FL for the past 10 years and attended the Community Harvest Worship Center in LaBelle. He loved fishing and grocery shopping.

He is survived by his wife, Vera Evelyn Teeters Sanders; three children, Tim Sanders and wife Barbara, Gary Sanders and wife Jerrylyn and Kathy Gibson and husband Tony all of Franklin; brother, Junior Fred Sanders and wife Peggy of Franklin; sisters, Edna Bates and Lucille McGaha both of Franklin; grandchildren, Michael Sanders, Angela Marie Gibson and Eric Gibson; great granddaughter, Kailey Rose Martinez; step children, Michael Giffin of Andrews, NC, Rebecca Posey of Ft. Myers, FL, Barbara Miller of Franklin and Angela Giffin of Port Charles, FL.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Don Moffitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Rush Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at Macon Funeral Home.
