Obituary
James Porter, 85, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 21, 2005.
A native of McDowell County, NC, he was the son of the late W.J. Porter and Mary Silvers Porter. He was married to the late Katherine Bowden Porter who died July 24, 2002 and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Alfred Porter. James was a US Air Force veteran of WWII and was a member of Cowee Baptist Church.
He is survived by one niece and one nephew.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 23, at Cowee Baptist Church. Rev. Lloyd Fish will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service hour at Cowee Baptist Church.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
