James "Doc" Elmore, 56, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018.

Born in Gaston County, NC he was the son of the late Paul "Tom" Elmore and Hilda Horton Elmore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Edward Elmore and Tommy Lee Elmore. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. James enjoyed listening to music, watching his son play sports, and helping others.

He is survived by his wife, Candie Elmore; son, Ashton Elmore; nephews, Jamie Elmore and Josh Edge; niece, Summer Elmore; great-nephew, Zack Hughes; great-neices, Alysha Elmore, Kali Bagwell, and Madison Elmore; and his lifelong friend, Jeff Grogis and his family, Diane, Luke, and Hannah.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Monday, December 17 at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Davis Hooper and Rev. Charles Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Shepherd Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Liberty Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Josh Edge, Jeff Grogis, Andrew Armstrong, Zack Hughes, Alan Shepherd, and Curtis Dowdle.
