James Edward Elliott, 79, of Franklin, entered into rest Monday, September 12, 2005.
A native and life long resident of Macon County, he was the son of the late Oscar Elliott and Hattie Guffey Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Emory Justice; a son, David Elliott and a daughter, Kathleen Webb. Mr. Elliott was self-employed in logging; and a member of the Burningtown Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie Nell Robbins Elliott; three daughters, Jo Webb, Rosa Young and Imogene Elliott; and two sons, D. L. and Denver Elliott, all of Franklin; one sister Ruth Gray of Franklin; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., September 14, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Gary Webb, Dale Hogue, Bud Elliott, Steve Elliott, Randy Roper, Scotty Elliott, and Denny Elliott.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
