James "Ellis" Collins, 74, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Byrd Monroe Collins Sr. and Lou Anna Franks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Mamie Collins, Dorothy Jones, J.L. Collins, Tommy Collins and half brother, Furman Franks. Ellis loved to fish and enjoyed getting out and riding around. He was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Harvy Collins; three children, Betty, Linda and Mike all of North Carolina; two step daughters, Jessica McCoy and Katie McCoy both of Franklin; three sisters, Eva Nell King of New Port Richie, FL, Margie Hopkins of Franklin and Delcia Carver of Franklin; brother, Monroe Collins of Franklin and half brother, Victor Franks of Clayton, GA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Hopkins, Randy Hopkins, Timmy Collins, Ikey Collins, Billy Collins and Jeremiah Keener.
Memorial donations can be made to one's favorite charity.
