James Robert Cabe, 90, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Born September 5, 1925, he was the son of Clarence Weaver and Eva Moses Cabe of Cat Creek in Franklin, N.C. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane Talley Cabe; daughters: Janet Gillespie (Mark) of Orange Park, FL , Jill Cabe Hill (Bob) of White Hall, AR, two grandchildren: Annie B. Keith (Mike), D. Michael Brown and six great grandchildren: Sean, Natalee, Aiden, Ava, Mollee and Cabe. He is survived by a brother, Arthur Cabe (Annie Ruth) of Franklin and a sister, Shirley Hodnett (Leroy) of Winder, GA. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Alma Taylor, Bertha Cabe, Earl Cabe, Perry Cabe, Iris Alderman and Gene Cabe.
A World War II Veteran, James Robert was a 1st Sergeant with the Army Air Corp and was a locator of missing and downed planes. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Franklin, N.C. He retired from DuPont after 38 years of service.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Donnie Seagle, Rev. James F. Parham and Rev. Brandon Breedlove will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.
