James Hill Broadwell, 79, of Franklin passed away, Monday, February 18, 2019.
Born in Tampa, FL, he was the son of the late Everett Broadwell and Sherie Melton Broadwell. James served in the US Air Force. As a horticulturist he managed a nursery and became a director of the Nurserymens Association and published their magazine. He enjoyed collecting and growing orchids and was a member of the South Florida Orchid Society. His other two passions were making jewelry and working on electronics. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Kost Broadwell; son, James Broadwell (Felica) of Houston, TX; daughter, Laurie Harth (MJ) of Naples, FL; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am, Friday, February 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Father Tien Duong will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
