Obituary
Jacqueline Evitt Franks, 76, of Franklin, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Evitt and Eva Bowman Evitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orvel Franks who died in 1990 and a son, Tony Franks who died in 2008. Mrs. Franks worked disaster relief through the Baptist Association and was a member of Ellijay Baptist Church. She was an auto insurance underwriter.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Franks Haugh and husband Tim of Juneau, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Donna J. Franks of Beulah, AL; sister, Linda Young of Franklin; two grandchildren, Shane Franks and Tammy Franks Tapley; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14, at Ellijay Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Sellers and Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenwood-Serenity Memorial Gardens, Montgomery, AL.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Wanda Bolick, 80 Woodrow Lane, Franklin, NC 28734.
