Isabell Ray Vanhook, 73, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Born in Macon Co, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Wyndel Ray and Alice Sutton Ray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Monta Hurst; a brother, R.C. Ray and a special niece, Linda Sue Cruse. She worked many years at Perry's Drug Store and was an avid Franklin Panthers Fan. To her grandchildren she wasn't just a grandmother she was "Mamaw Isabell". She was a member of Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Vanhook; two sons, William "Billy" Vanhook and wife Sherry and Denny Vanhook and wife Sonja, both of Franklin; three sisters, Evelyn Brendle, Wendell Angel and Eunice Doster; three grandchildren, Kim Terell, Amy Anders and Ben Vanhook; five great grandchildren, Andrew, Andrea and Anderson Terrell and Davis and Clarke Anders and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Prentiss Church of God. Rev. Tim Hayes and Rev. Don Moffitt will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
