Obituary
Howard Dewey Seay, 81, of Franklin, laid down his earthly burdens and entered into eternal rest and peace on Saturday, November 3, 2012.
Born in Macon County to the late Arvey Bedford Seay (1958) and Mary Leona Williams Seay (1985). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Doris Evitt, Ella Mae Ledford, Margie Stiwinter, infant sister, Mary Burdell Seay, Norman Seay, Roger Seay and William Seay. Mr. Seay retired after twenty years with distinction as Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, before returning to Western North Carolina. He was married to the late Carol Lee Blaine Seay, daughter of Mr. Arthur Carr and Elizabeth Ann Hodgins Blaine of Otto, NC. Mr. Seay and his wife joined the Franklin community making their home in the Wells Grove/Mashburn Branch Community. Howard enjoyed working outside, clearing his property and raising cattle.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Seay Harwell of Franklin; son, Michael Howard Seay and wife Deborah Norton Seay of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Ryan William Harwell and wife Kristy of Tucson, AZ, Shannon Lee Harwell of Cullowhee, NC, Branigan Nicole Seay of Charlotte, NC and Bradley Michael Seay of Greensboro, NC; two great-grandsons, Parker Wesley and Preston Ryan Harwell of Tucson, AZ; brothers and sisters, Francis Teague, James Clarence Seay and John Seay; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 5th at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ryan Harwell, Bradley Seay; nephews,Tim Teague, Clinton Ledford and trusted friends, Willard and George Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Franklin Lion's Club, Attn: White Cane, PO Box 703, Franklin, NC 28744.
