Obituary

Hope Louise Kling Tallent, 94, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed to her eternal home on Thursday, January 07, 2016 at Whitestone Wellness Center, Greensboro, NC.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Lynn Horton and Myrtle Miller Horton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, L. Dowe Kling; second husband, Gene Frizzell and third husband, R.L. Tallent and a brother Charles Horton of Holly Hill, FLA. Hope graduated from high school in New Smyrna Beach, Florida having been a member of the National Honor Society and editor of the school newspaper. She attended Riverside Hospital Nursing School in Jacksonville, Florida , two years before marrying L. Dowe Kling in August,1941. Hope worked as a medical secretary for the American Lung Association ( 1969 - 1971); Clerk Typist II and assistant to the Director of the Lee County Health Department, Ft. Myers, Fla. (1966-1969); Clerk Typist II at Florida State Board of Health, Jacksonville , Fla. (1960-1966) and secretary of a State Farm Insurance Agency, Jacksonville , Fla. (1957-1960). Hope was also a devoted member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Franklin, NC. She and her first husband loved to teach children of the church and devoted themselves to supporting mission work. At time of her passing she was a member of Stoney Mountain Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC.

She is survived by two sons, Rev. Larry and Ann Kling of Foley, Alabama and Rev. Dr. Gary L. Kling and Dr. Karen Kiser- Kling of Greensboro, NC. Hope lived out the true calling of a Christian woman, wife and mother in giving guidance, friendship and love to all who knew her.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 16 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. R. Larry Appleby, pastor of Stoney Mountain Baptist Church, Hendersonville, will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, at Macon Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to Stoney Mountain Baptist Bible Fund in Hope's name, 3301 Asheville Highway, Hendersonville, 28791 instead of flowers.
