Hoke C. Meadows, 95, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Emlis Meadows and Ethel Morgan Meadows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Billings Meadows who died in 1999; sons, Jesse Hoke Meadows and Dr. Tommy Meadows; brothers, Don, Doyle, Rex, Lionel, Joseph, Gray, Wayne and Billy Meadows; sister, Rebecca M. Angel. Hoke and granddaughter, "Little Lucy" Meadows. Hoke was a US Navy veteran and served in Pearl Harbor during WWII. He was a farmer and worked in construction. He was member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Lucy Smarr and husband Harold of Franklin and Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Tamara Meadows of Brevard, NC and Danny Meadows of Clarkesville, TN and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Judson Hall will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with full military rites conducted by VFW Post 7339.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
