Herbert James Watts, 89, of Dunnellon, Fla., and formerly of Franklin, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006.
He was born in Bloomington, Ind., son of the late Virgil and Martha Robinson Watts. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Haines Watts, second wife, Litta Adams Watts and two brothers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, a Mason and a life member of the VFW. He was a member of Community Congregational Christian Church. He moved to Dunedin, Fla., in the early 1950s, and owned Dunedin Hardware Store. In the 1970s, he owned a flower shop. Later, he moved to Dunnellon, where he retired, and later moved to Franklin.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Vanhook of Franklin and Patricia Rasch of Dunedin, Fl.; a brother, Gene Watts of Bloomington, Ind.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Clarks Chapel Methodist Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
