Obituary
Helen H. Pennington, 83 of Sylva, NC, formerly of Roanoke, VA, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late James Highfield and Carrie Bowles Highfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pennington; a son, Joseph Pennington Jr. and a daughter, Dee Butcher. Helen loved to read and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Ernest Pennington of Cherokee, NC; grandchildren, Savannah Butcher, Hope Cotes, Ashley Pennington and Blake Ratcliff and three great grandchildren, Grayson Cotes, Aiden Tripp and Evan Tripp.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, VA. Rev. Russell Gordon will officiate.
Memorial donations can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation, Central & Western NC, 200 Centreport Dr.,Suite 300,Greensboro,NC 27409.
