Obituary
Helen Frances Derr, 85, of Franklin, entered into rest Sunday, March 5, 2006.
A native of Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late George Fettinger and Mary McNichols Fettinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Derr, who died in 1987. Helen was a secretary, previously working for Creedmoor Children's Psychiatric Center in New York. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Irene Vulpis of Franklin; one brother, Jerome Fettinger of NY; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Matthew Kauth will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Macon County Humane Society, P.O. Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744 or CatMan-2Cat Sanctuary, P.O. Box 2344, Cullowhee, NC 28723.
