Obituary

Harriett Florene Terry Hartley

Raised in Deming, New Mexico, Harriett Hartley's role and love in life was as a mother and grandmother. She survived the death of two children. "Little"David was killed at the age of 18 months and Patricia "Trish" Murphy died of cancer at the age of 59. She is survived by five children: Terry Hartley of Phoenix, AZ; Harrietta "Hank" Shuler and her husband Bruce of Franklin, NC; Thames "Tim" and his wife Desiree Hartley of Westminster, CO; Elizabeth "Betsi" or "Liz" Nicoletti and her husband Anthony "Tony" of Tucson, AZ; and Margharite "Margret" Coppola and her husband Edward "Eddie" of Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.

She leaves behind one brother: Marc Terry, Jr. of Las Cruces, NM and one sister: Ellen Terry of Orlando, FL. She survived the deaths of her sisters Jean and Tommi and her brother Charles, as well her mother and father: Rose Florene Coronet Terry and Marc Terry

Along with 22 great grandchildren, she leaves behind Terry's children: Susan, Marc, and Allison; Trish's children: Wesley and Tommi; Tim's children: Gates and Tina. Betsi's children: Gabriel and Feliciti; and Margret's children: Erika, Tait, and Welby.

Harriett took great joy in her babies, grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She was an avid gardener and all around lover of Mother-Nature. She was a very talented painter and artist, and could see beauty in anything. She also loved to dance and sing which lead her to take up square-dancing at the spry age of 85.

Harriett touched and created many hearts. She was the true embodiment of the term "matriarch". She will be desperately missed not only by the ones whose lives she had touched but for future generations as well. She will live on in memories and in our hearts.

A Memorial Service was held at Macon Funeral Home.
