Harold Dean Hopkins, 57, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011.
Born in Macon Co. he was the son of Margie Collins Hopkins and the late Howard Hopkins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Ray Hopkins and two sisters, Mary Alice and Betty Sue Hopkins. Harold enjoyed doing yard work, helping others and had a talent for decorating. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Stanley Dean Hopkins and wife Lynn of Franklin; daughter, Pamela Britt of St. Pauls, NC; special friends, Dale Burson and Gloria Owenby; four brothers, Richard, Gary, Randy and Billy Hopkins all of Franklin; four sisters, Edith Sullivan and Elaine Hopkins both of Asheville, Patsy Holbrooks of Franklin and Barbara Weaver of Clayton, GA; three grandchildren, Nikki Hopkins, Starr Britt and Sierra Britt and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Dale Cannon and Rev. Jim Dusek will officiate. Burial will be at Windy Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m Saturday, July 30 at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be James Hopkins, Gary Sullivan, Tim Hill, Robert Carpenter, Dustin Carpenter Thomas Evans and Billy Cribbs.
Memorial donations can be made to Windy Gap Baptist Church C.A.R.E Ministry or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
