Obituary

Granville Dwight Porter, 88, of Franklin and Stuart, FL passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2005.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1937-1941 and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. After service he became an electrical engineer with the Civil Service serving 25 years. Mr. Porter was a member of IBEW for 50+ years, a member of the Eagles Club and local VFW of Stuart, FL and a Shriner and Scottish Rites in Huntsville, AL.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Porter; two daughters, Jane S. Porter of Franklin and Phyllis E. Farrar of Tanner, AL; one son, Paul D. Porter of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angel Home Health and Hospice, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
