Obituary
Grady Sherrill Mathis, 73, of Franklin, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018.
Born in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late Hiram and Lola Mae Mathis. He was preceded in death by a son, Grady Mathis; two sisters, Cora Mae Hughes and Ernestine James and three brothers, R.L., Vet and Fred. Grady loved racing and building hot rods.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bernice Phillips Mathis; three children, Buddy Mathis (Donna) of Franklin, Tammy Mathis of Canton, and Fred "P-Nut" Mathis of Franklin; brother, Jerry Mathis of Canton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
