Grady M. Bostick, 77, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was born Aug. 27, 1938 in Palatka, Florida to Grady L. and Eva Bostick, and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He married the great love of his life, Beverly Greene, on August 28, 1959. They spent more than 30 years in Jacksonville, where they raised their family, then relocated to Cashiers, and subsequently Franklin to enjoy mountain life in retirement. Grady served in the Air Force and Navy reserves, and retired with Prudential Insurance Company. He was a 32-degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite of the Morocco Temple, Jacksonville. Grady was a unique soul, would strike up a conversation with anyone he met, and truly loved the small pleasures in life. He was an avid golfer, fisher-man, woodworker, gardener, beekeeper and nature lover. His greatest joys in life were his loving wife, children and grand-children, and his little dog "Dixie". He is survived by his children Barry (Carla), Melanie (Doug); grandchildren Alyssa, Matthew, Kelsey, Joshua, and Georgia; great-grandchild Jason; and his niece, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Grady L. and Eva Drury Bostick, and brother Gary L. Bostick.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 27 at Hobson Chapel, Jacksonville, FL.
