Grace Helen Broome DeHart Nickelson, 90, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Born in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Laney Broome and Addie Starnes Broome. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Winfred Ray DeHart, second husband, Charles Nickelson; brothers, Luther, Harold, Donald and Ervin and sisters, Virginia, Della, Vina, Ida, Lily, Eva and Alice. Grace was one of thirteen children, she retired as a CNA, was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian.

She is survived by three children, Bill DeHart of Webster, NC, Marie McClure of Franklin and Ethel Bassford of Kissimmee, FL; sister, Frances Cunningham of Marshville, NC; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Hubbard will officiate. Burial will be in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Bryson City, NC.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Thursday, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Mark McClure, Will DeHart, David Bassford and John Bassford. Robert Garrett will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
