Gloria Bender Hinson, of Cullowhee, NC, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.

A native of Decatur, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late David and Dorothy Bender. Gloria received her associate degree from Orlando Junior College, bachelor degree from University of Florida and masters degree from Stetson University in Deland, FL. She was an educator with a passion for teaching reading. She was a member of the St. Agnes Episcopal Church, member of the Daughters of the King and member of the Delta Kappa Gamma.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Fred Hinson; two sons, Jon Henry Wiggins of Springfield, Missouri and James Cecil Wiggins, Jr. of St. Marks, FL; one sister, Shirley Nelson of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren, Emily Kathleen Wiggins of State College, PA and Amy Elizabeth Wiggins of Columbia, Missouri.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at St. Agnes Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dorothy Pratt will officiate. Burial will be in the St. David's Cemetery, Cullowhee, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Agnes Episcopal Church Building Fund, 66 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
