Glenn Roy Lacey, 89, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014.
Born in Lansing, Michigan, he was the son of the late Sam Obrecht and Letha Irene Mix Obrecht. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Lacey who died June 1, 2003. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII and was a retired Police Captain from West Palm Beach, FL. Glenn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was an avid reader and motorcycle enthusiast.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Lehtinen and husband Jack of Franklin; three grandchildren, Michael Lehtinen, Bonnie Dodge and Jeannie Maples; eight great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sylva. Reverend J. A. Voitus will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Macon Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will follow at 8 p.m.
Grandsons and Great Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
