Glen Stiwinter, Jr., 69, of Franklin, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. A native of Macon County, He was the son of the late Glen Stiwinter, Sr. and Louise Wooddall Stiwinter. He was an only child.

Glen worked for Zickgraf Hardwood in the delivery department. Later he was employed by Macon County Schools as custodian and delivery man for School Food Services. After that he worked as a guard for Highlands Falls Country Club, and the Highlands Newspaper. At that time he fell at a company picnic, crushed his knee on a rock, and became disabled.

Glen never married but lived at home and nursed both his parents until their deaths.

As a child he attended Buck Creek Wesleyan Methodist Church. Later he attended the Assembly of God, and Wesleyanna United Methodist Church. Recently he was attending Sugar Fork Baptist Church which is near his home. He loved singing in the choir.

Glen enjoyed being a member of the John and Dorothy Crawford Senior Center where he made many wonderful friends. His favorite activity was reading to pre-school children in the day care center next door.

He is survived by several cousins and many friends.

Glen will be buried beside his parents in Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, February 1, at the John and Dorothy Crawford Senior Center. Rev. Gene Hawkins will officiate.
