Gladys Renee Haas, 88, Franklin, NC, formerly of Ponce de Leon, FL, died October 4, 2012 in Franklin, NC. Gladys was born June 18, 1924 to Isom and Mary Beasley Padgett. She married Charles Warren Haas on May 3, 1947 in Florala, AL and was married for 64 years.

Gladys worked for the Florida Hotel in DeFuniak Springs and then as a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed reading, flowers and cooking and her cat, "Little Bit."

Survivors include her son, Glade and wife, Joyce, Franklin, NC, granddaughter, Brittany and husband, Andrew Dayes, 3 great-grandchildren, Trajan, Lleyton and Kai, all of Clearwater, FL. One niece, Gail Slaughter, and husband, Lloyd of Ponce de Leon, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2011, her parents and two brothers, James and Byron (Bide) Padgett.

A graveside service at New Ponce de Leon Cemetery will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012, 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Kenneth Harrison officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society.
