Obituary
Gerardus J. Meinders, 74, of Otto, passed away Friday, October 22, 2010.
Born in Singkep, Indonesia, he was the son of the late Eppo Meinders and Roelfina Heika Meinders. As an electrical engineer his profession sent him to many parts of the world. His great passion was his love and dedication to animals. He served as President and Board member of the Macon County Humane Society for many years. We all will miss him.
He is survived by his wife, Katharina Jantina Meinders; son, Don Michael Meinders and daughters, Emerald Jean Foster and Rebecca Ann Clements.
A Memorial Service will be held at Coweeta Baptist Church, Sunday, November 14, at 3:00 p.m.
The Meinders family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Macon County Humane Society, PO Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744.
Kipper misses the daily walks along the river!
