Obituary
George Madison Estes, 54 of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Thursday, April 6, 2006.
A native of Macon County, he was the son of Christine Morgan Estes and the late Claude Estes who passed away September 29, 2000. George was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was an auto mechanic instructor for AB Technical College and was also employed by Harry's Cadillac and Skyland Oldsmobile.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra Furlong Estes; and one daughter, Kristen Estes.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 9, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McCoy, Rev. Randy Gregory, Rev. Wesley Price and Rev. Roy Lowe will officiate. Burial will be in the Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Demalta, Randy Gregory, Christopher Seibert, Kevin Morgan, Justin Whaley, Wayne Estes and Doyle Estes.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
