Obituary
Gary Alan Stanfield, 57, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan, he was the son of Robert Preleau Stanfield and the late Bobbie Hopper Stanfield. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Stanfield who died in 2006. Gary was a U.S. Army veteran, retired U.S. Postal worker and was an avid fisherman and golfer.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jan Roberts Stanfield; brother, Larry Stanfield and wife Donna of Ontario, OH; two nieces, Cindy Stanfield and Brandi Grogg; nephew, Tim Stanfield and loyal and devoted dog, Mickey.
Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy James will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
