Gaither L. Crisp, 74, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Iva Crisp and Della Velma Bryson Crisp. Gaither was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. He was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church. He was faithful to his church and loved to sing in the choir. Gaither was a logger.

He is survived by two children, Terry Crisp and wife Sandra and Diane McConnell and husband, Michael all of Franklin; two sisters, Katie M. Green and Frankie L. Sanders both of Franklin; two brothers, William L. Crisp of Franklin and Charles Crisp of Beattyville, KY; four grandchildren, Brian McConnell, Chad McConnell, Josh Crisp and Travis Crisp; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Windy Gap Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Dale Cannon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Crisp, Dallas Crisp, Dewayne Ervin, Bobby Peek, Ben West, Tony Norton, Kevin Rogers and Johnny Crisp.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian McConnell, Chad McConnell, Travis Crisp and Josh Crisp.

Memorial donations may be made to the Windy Gap Baptist Church Building Fund, C/O Sandra Teem, 51 Teem Trail, Franklin, NC 28734.
