Freda Hall Bryant passed away on Sunday March 2nd at The Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community in Asheville NC where she had resided for the past 14 years. Freda was born to Dock Allison Hall and Pearl Bradley Hall on August 15th 1925 in the Oak Grove, NC community. She attended Western Carolina College where she received her teacher's certificate and subsequently taught school in the Macon County School district.
Freda married Bruce Dickerson Bryant on April 15th 1950. They had two children, Barnard Bruce Bryant of Asheville and Pamela Bryant Bailey of Charlotte. Freda leaves behind her son-in-law David, two grandchildren Matthew Myron Bailey and Catherine Allison Bailey all of Charlotte. Freda also had two nieces, Clara Jean Brandy and Betty Jo Farlow and a nephew Ed P. Guy.
Freda was a loyal member of First Baptist Church in Franklin and considered the parishioners there to be part of her extended family. During her time at Deerfield she was always thrilled to receive visitors and correspondence from her church family and others in the community.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the kind and caring staff at Deerfield during her stay there.
A memorial service celebrating Freda's life will be held at Macon Funeral Home in Franklin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March the 8th followed by a visitation at the Bryant's home at 38 Trimont Mountain Trail in Franklin from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
A memorial will also be held in Asheville at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Home in the St. Giles Chapel on Sunday, March 16th at 2 p.m.
