Fred L. Nichols Jr., 74, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Fred Leslie Nichols Sr. and Effie Parilee Carpenter Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Allen R. Nichols and sisters, Birdie Mae Nichols and Rosa Lee Nichols. Fred was a US Navy veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. Fred loved spending time with his grandkids. He was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Della Ann Huscusson Nichols; son, Chuck Nichols and wife Deanna of Franklin; daughter, Sherri Frias and husband Valentino of Senoia, GA; sisters, Belva Edwards of Franklin, Annie "Georgia" Zachary of Columbia, WV and Eleanor Lewis of Franklin; four grandchildren, Billy Phillips, Selena Frias, Santiago Frias and Paige Nichols; step grandson, Justin Holland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10th at Maidens Chapel United Methodist Church. Rev. Sherron Geiger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be James Guffie, Bobby Lewis, Kenan Lewis, Valentino Frias, Justin Holland, Joel Holland and Daryl Holland. Santiago Frias, Billy Phillips, Selena Frias will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
