Frank B. Woodard, 85, of Franklin, NC, entered into rest Thursday, February 16, 2006.
Born in Jackson County, he lived the last 20 years in the Holly Springs Community. He was the son of the late John Cleveland Woodard and Ruth Higdon Woodard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leman Woodard and son-in-law Ralph Hyatt and nephew J.C. Woodard. Frank was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for more than 75 years. He retired in 1982 from the N.C. DOT. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jennieve Mason Woodard; five daughters, Ruby Kirkland and husband Ray, Shirley Hyatt, Beverly Mason and husband Carter, Betty Gates and husband, Bill and Kathy Woodard all of Franklin; one sister, Mae Buchanan of Sylva; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Wesley Hooper, Rev. Tommy Fouts and Rev. Mike Fox will officiate. Burial will be in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 17, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chad Kirkland, Brian Moffett, Louis Thurman, Greg Mason, Chris Mason and Josh Pope.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Zion Hill Cemetery Fund, 3110 Pumpkintown Rd, Sylva, NC 28779.
