Floyd Oscar Kirkland, 81, of Otto, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014.

Born in Jackson, Co, he was the son of the late Fred "Shorty" Kirkland and Lucinda Jenkins Kirkland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Frances Kirkland who died in 2009, brother, LeRoy Kirkland and sister, Rosa Lee Russell. Floyd enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by five children, Mary Gregory of Franklin, Melissa Kirkland of Burton, MI, Patricia Kirkland of Marble, NC, Gary Kirkland and wife Leila of Franklin and Christine Kirkland of Franklin; eight sisters and a brother, Ethel Kirkland Walker, Cordelia Russell, Annie Bell Smith, Lois Shephard, Willy Hovis, Dorothy Reddish, Nancy Russell, Louise Hurst all of Franklin and Wiley Kirkland of Burton, MI; six grandchildren, Daniel Gregory, Jeremy Gregory, Kelli Kirkland, Brandon Kirkland, Brittney Chase and Jaimee Chase; one great grandchild, Tiana Gregory and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, September 14th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts, Rev. Randy Gregory and Rev. Lee Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mickey Kirkland, Fred Russell, Dale McMahan, Jake Waters, James Reddish, David Russell, David Jenkins and Rodney Shears. Honorary Pallbearer will be David McMahan.
