Florence Stalcup Sherrill, 93, of Franklin, entered into rest Thursday, January 26, 2006.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas Stalcup and Jessie Wallace Stalcup. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, B. L. "Buck Sherrill" Sherrill who died in 1984. Florence retired in 1972 from Macon County Cooperative Extension Service as Home Extension Agent. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church; a member of the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group, Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Nequassa Chapter No. 43. and the first woman to serve on the School Board in Macon County. She loved to work and loved the people she worked with.

She is survived by one son, George Sherrill of Franklin.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 4, at Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Newell will officiate. Burail will be in the Carson Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial United Methodist Church Building, 9668 Old Murphy Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
