Florence "Gaynell" Pendergrass Tidwell, 84, of Boaz, Alabama formerly of Franklin, NC, entered into rest on Monday, June 19, 2006.

A native of Nantahala, NC, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Duvall and Edith West Duvall. In addition she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vester Pendergrass who died in 1989; a daughter, Jane Dickard who died in 2005; two brothers, Ford Duvall, Ray Duvall and two sisters, Nina Johnson and Corabelle Cheek. Gaynell was an avid Avon distributor and team leader; she had a real love for farming and was of the Baptist faith. Gaynell retired from Belden Wire and Cable.

She is survived by her husband, W.B. Tidwell; five sons, Bruce Wilson, John Daniel Wilson, Charles Pendergrass, Ray Pendergrass and Roger Pendergrass all of Franklin and one daughter, Ann Ledford of Darrington, Washington; eight step children, one brother, Arnold Duvall of Everett, Washington; one sister, Faye Owenby of Waynesville, NC; 19 grandchildren; 18 step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Fouts will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be, Chris Pendergrass, Derik Pendergrass, Dale Wilson, Bruce Wilson, Jr., Jeremy Teem, Lee Metcalf and Frank Watson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Angel Home Health and Hospice, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
