Fern Elizabeth Smith, 93, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Born in Traill County, ND, she was the daughter of the late John Oscar Sathra and Martha Larson Sathra. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Smith; a sister, Margaret Lasher and three brothers, John, Alan and Hillis Sathra. Fern enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She loved nature and bird-watching and enjoyed hiking to the area's many waterfalls.
She is survived by her son, Paul Smith of Gainesville, FL; sister, Jeannette Pechuman of St. Paul, MN and a brother, Ralph Sathra of Levitown, PA.
An informal service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12th, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Josh Helton will officiate.
